When you’re in pain, plastic surgery is cheaper than ever

Plastic surgery is a pricey option for many people but if you’re struggling with chronic pain, it may be cheaper than the average plastic surgery procedure.

According to a study published in the American Journal of Cosmetic Surgery, plastic surgeons in the US spent a whopping $1.8 million (£1.1m) on plastic surgery procedures in 2016.

Plastic surgeons in Japan spent $1,634,000, while in Australia, $1 million was spent.

The study found that while many of the plastic surgery treatments used in the UK were more expensive than in the United States, many of these procedures were cheaper in Australia.

“If you look at the price of plastic surgery in the USA, the cost of the procedure in Australia is more affordable than the cost in the U.S.,” said Dr John Foshee, a plastic surgeon at the University of Melbourne.

“There’s a certain cost difference that is due to the fact that we have a better level of healthcare and quality of life in Australia.”
